So Long, Farewell---
In the immortal words of Oscar Hammerstein, Half Moon Theatre bids you, our friends, a fond Farewell! After ten dynamic seasons of professional theatre, Half Moon Theatre has closed its doors. Professional theatre is costly to produce, as everyone is paid -- union actors, directors, designers (costume, set, lighting, sound), technicians, backstage crew, box office, house managers, etc. At the end of the day, we were not able to sustain the growth necessary to fund a fully staffed professional theatrical enterprise.
In our three years at The Culinary Institute, we hired approximately 400 artists and served over 48,000 adults and local students. We are proud of the creative home we built for, and with, our audiences, and we ended our Tenth Anniversary Season with a sense of accomplishment and joy.
We are immensely grateful to The Culinary Institute of America, and the visionary Dr. Tim Ryan, who with his incomparable staff, gave us a spectacular platform from which to share our work these past few years. It is with profound gratitude that we recognize and thank our staff, board members, community champions, sponsors, and most of all, our audiences, who made Half Moon Theatre soar.
THANK YOU and we hope you all continue to support live theatre--wherever you may live!!
