Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival

Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival Enjoy over 100 exhibiting artists and artisans, Maryland breweries, food trucks and vendors, and liv The festival is expected to attract 5,000 visitors.

With a new venue incorporating 3 city blocks of downtown Hyattsville, “Arts & Ales” will take place on Saturday, September 17th, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The juried festival will feature over 100 exhibiting artists and artisans, Maryland craft breweries, food vendors, as well as a variety of performances, including music and dance. The event is free and family-friendly. Ales sales are by the glass, ages 21+.

We ❤️ a Projection! Check out .hendrix artwork when you visit Mash Up opening Saturday night! Spend the day enjoying Open Studios Tour across the Gateway Arts District! So much to see on Saturday!

The idea was to create a work of art that would add a unique artistic experience to the already thriving arts community in the Gateway Arts District.

Yesterday was the official install day and I wanted to share some photos from that task, and now I have to honor to present to you “Wet Shoes Will Melt If You Put Them In The Oven To Dry” (I know this from experience). This series of videos combines digital paintings and motion to create a captivating visual experience.

The display is located on Gallatin Street, and Baltimore Ave. on the side of the Sohy Arts Building. Look for the neon sign that says Peep Show, then look on the wall behind you. The projection starts each night at 8pm and runs until midnight. Next week I’ll extend it until 2am. There’s also a little screen in the window that plays videos 24 hours a day.

This project was funded by the Corridor Investment Grant.

Pyramid Atlantic has become such a special place in my life.
THIS SATURDAY MAY 9th 12-5pm is the GATEWAY ARTS OPEN STUDIO with over 300 artist studios. This is the largest coordinated open studio event in the area 🎉
I will be at my new studio (aka my second home) Come through! And come early in the day bc I might dip out later to see other studios 👀👀

A few stops I recommend:

→ : visit friends & , check out .fix_darkroom and get an old-timey tintype portrait by .logic.

→ Borderless artist & curator talk (2-4pm): I’ve seen the show twice now & engaged with the work differently each time. (Also on display in the adjoining gallery is Real Characters, featuring drawings by Maurice Barnes & Nonja Tiller from )

→ Member MashUp Opening Reception (5-8 pm): 100+ artists, maximalist energy. See MashUp before it opens to the public & connect with fellow/future Pyramid Atlantic members.

→ Always Open (7-9 pm): This is first group show, which feels historic, and it happens to be organized around my favorite color. The reception will feature convenience store staples which when consumed outside of the home, is performance art?
