Archie's Barbershop is excited to host Robert Lighthouse in a solo acoustic concert for the first time. A native of Sweden, Robert calls the DC area a home away from home. Get ready for some down home blues! Robert will also conduct a guitar workshop Saturday morning.

Miles and I traveled to Woodstock, VA today to pick up some donated banjos for the Black Banjo Reclamation Project that Miles heads up. I sent a request to Hungry for Music, an international music foundation that provides musical instruments for schools and groups like ours and the foundation provided 5 new Deerling banjos. Big thanks to Cassie and the staff at the Hungry for Music warehouse.

Look for a concert and book release soon with Stephen Wade at Archie's Barbershop.

Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee performed blues worldwide together from 1958 to 1980. Sonny on harmonica and Brownie on acoustic guitar. They were the real deal and well respected in the world of blues (and still are). The Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation was very fortunate to acquire a cane used by Sonny, who was blind. See the photo of Sonny and Brownie and their drummer with Sonny holding the cane. A letter of authenticity is included. A giant thanks to Tom Walbank for acquiring and donating the cane to the Barbershop.
Stop over any Saturday 1-5pm to see it.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
Beginning in April, The Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation is announcing an increase in concert ticket prices from $25.00 to $30.00. This change is necessary due to rising expenses faced by the performers, which have made it more challenging to sustain the quality of our events. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of Archie's Barbershop as we strive to provide the highest level of acoustic blues performances in our community.

I’ve been working on something new, and it begins this Friday.
I’m starting a new YouTube series called Memphis Porch Sessions — acoustic blues songs, the stories behind them, and some of the wisdom and humor passed along to me by the old bluesmen.
The first episode premieres Friday.
I hope you’ll pull up a chair.
