Every summer starts with a story.

This Wednesday and through to June 24, we’ll gather at Crossroads Farmers Market to sing, move, imagine, and play together with ages 0-5. These early learner sessions are a chance for young children and caregivers to build community, explore stories, and get ready for a summer of creativity.

Then in July through August, our elementary and middle school storytellers will be writing their own books and performing stories inspired by the cultures and communities that make Crossroads such a special place.

We hope you’ll join us. Register using the link in our bio!

Before spring slips away… 🌿

I wanted to share a few upcoming projects and community events that are blooming this season through Yard Dramas, libraries, Teaching Artists, and Prince George’s County communities.

✨ A fundraiser for Teaching Artists of the Mid-Atlantic at on MONDAY!
✨ Hyattsville Aging in Place Performance of “IN OUR EYES” at the Prince George’s County Block Party - NEXT Saturday, May 30 at 12:15PM
✨ The Summer Reading Program launched with Prince George's County Memorial Library System - start tracking your hours!
✨ A Maryland Citizens for the Arts (MCA) Maryland Arts Summit breakout session with Lynne Childress, Performer and Teaching Artist, Marcie Wolf-Hubbard, and me - Topic: Fair Pay for Teaching Artists!
✨ Yard Dramas summer collaboration returns with Takoma Park Maryland Library, and Crossroads Farmers Market starts in June! Register today.

What connects all of these experiences for me is a belief that stories matter — in libraries, neighborhoods, classrooms, and public spaces.

Whether through theatre, reading initiatives, or community gatherings, I’m grateful to be part of projects that bring people together through creativity and shared experience.

“Each of us has a story to tell, and we all have a role to play in writing our collective story.”

It's library giving day! This is your opportunity to make a one-time or recurring donation. You might even just go and visit a library in our system, and give the staff some love. Libraries need us, and we need them. Prince George's County Memorial Library System

It's Library Giving Day! 📖 Show your PGCMLS pride and support your community by making a one-time or recurring donation to the PGCMLS Foundation.

Unrestricted giving is one of the most powerful ways to help us respond where the Library’s need is greatest. Libraries are vital third places and safe spaces — providing meaningful programs, access to vital information, and a place for community belonging.

Help us reach our goal of $20,000! Your generosity directly impacts your neighbors: https://ow.ly/Cf0X50YAO9s

Spent today in my basement studio, moving through my ideas about a 🐻✨

I'm taking a mixed media class with the fabulous . Today, she had us exploring narrative. It was the perfect space to start visualizing an image from the play I’m developing that follows a bear’s journey from Western Maryland through into Washington, DC.

This piece feels like an early glimpse into that world. Visual art is out of my comfort zone. I'm a theatre artist. But I can start with a narrative.

Grateful to the for a Creativity Grant supporting the planning and development of a new touring production, OSO IS HERE (working title), a performance for all ages exploring belonging, climate change, and our collective responsibility. 🌎

When the wind blows...

Thanks to the Maryland State Arts Council.

I'm ever grateful to the Takoma Park Maryland Library and Crossroads Farmers Market for becoming my little comforting corner of the world.

Much love to my dear friend and colleague for the courageous and joyful programming that was the much-needed spark for the telling of this story, one program year at a time.

Here's to turning the page together! As 2025 closes, I'm grateful for this incredible community that's supported 30 years of my career and 5 years of business ownership. I'm also crazy about vernal pools. If you've not had the opportunity to explore one, let's go together! It's the best way to welcome the new year, and season. Spring is upon us! 😁 ❄ 🎭

Highlights from this year:
✨ Completed Creators' Momentum Business Accelerator
🌿 Became Maryland Master Naturalist & pursuing Master Gardener certification
👧 Partnering with Girl Scouts
🎓 Teaching arts integration at the University of Maryland (my alma mater!) starting February
📚 Awarded several grants from the Maryland State Arts Council, including support to start the bear play!

As President/Co-Founder of Teaching Artists of the Mid-Atlantic (TAMA), I'm excited about the year ahead: a Teaching Artist Retreat, Showcase in Prince George's County, and expanded advocacy.
