It's National Senior Citizen Day, and we were so lucky to host a Senior Wellness Day at the fair in conjunction with the Washington County Council on Aging. Today, we celebrate the wisdom, kindness, experience, and lasting contributions of our senior citizens. Thank you for the stories you share, the lives you’ve touched, and the legacy you continue to build in our community.

Our 2026 Spotlight City, LaVerkin City, has a new resident!

At our latest City Council meeting, La Verkin’s newest ~ and perhaps most unusual ~ resident made his official debut: the **La Verkin Gherkin!** The City Council had the honor of giving our pickle pal his official name, **Dillon**.

Congratulations to **Brittany Ruesch**, who submitted the winning name in our Name the Gherkin contest! Brittany received a **$50 gift card** and her very own **mini Gherkin stuffed animal** as her prize.

Keep an eye out for Dillon around town as he represents the fun, friendly spirit that makes La Verkin such a great community!

In 1951, Mary Truman (Stratton) made history as the first Miss Washington County Queen. For 75 years, extraordinary young women have continued her legacy through education, service, leadership, and community involvement.

From hosting fundraisers and visiting schools to rolling up their sleeves at the Washington County Fair, our royalty proudly represents the pillars of Scholarship, Style, Service, Success, and Sisterhood.

👑 Congratulations to 75 years of Miss Washington County! Thank you to every titleholder who has served, inspired, and become part of this incredible legacy. 💙
