Tomorrow starts both The Great Pumpkin Hunt and the Small Pumpkin Hunt. The first clue will drop tomorrow, Thursday, October 1 at 10AM! Get ready! Visit eriemetroparks.org/thegreatpumpkin to read the tale and reveal the first clue. Good luck!



THE GREAT PUMPKIN

Can you find The Great Pumpkin? Clues will be released each week on Thursday during the month of October. There will be five pumpkins strategically placed in the parks each week. The location of the Great Pumpkin will be revealed on the final week. Prizes will be awarded to the first person to find all five pumpkins and The Great Pumpkin. Two others will be selected at random to win a prize pack. You must submit a photo next to each pumpkin and The Great Pumpkin to qualify. Use the park maps and the internet to help navigate. THE SMALL PUMPKIN

Can you find The Small Pumpkins? Clues will be released each Thursday during the month of October. One Small Pumpkin is hiding at Osborn MetroPark and will be moving locations each week. You must be quick and find the pumpkin before it moves. You must submit a photo next to all four Small Pumpkins during the month to qualify. Prizes will be awarded to the first person to find all four small pumpkins. Two others will be selected at random to win a prize pack. We are very proud of the new ADA accessible paved perimeter path at Osborn MetroPark. Come check it out!

During last week's Osborn Fall Fest event, many people, including those representing the Greater Sandusky Partnership, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Osborn MetroPark's newly paved perimeter trail.

The 2026 Controlled Deer Hunt Lottery at Edison Woods MetroPark is NOW OPEN! Applicants have until October 1 to turn in their applications. Winners will be notified by October 10.

A lottery drawing will be held for a deer gun hunt during a portion of the statewide deer gun season November 30 – December 4, 2026. The hunt will take place at Edison Woods MetroPark in Berlin Heights, Ohio.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Here are a few photos from our Wings Over Lake Erie Fall Birding program this morning at Osborn MetroPark. There were so many warblers and other migratory birds in the park and the sunrise was amazing! Be sure to join us throughout the winter months as we continue to search for our feathered friends. Our next birding program is Birds & Coffee on Thursday, October 15 from 8:30-10AM at Osborn MetroPark. Thank you to all who joined us for Wings Over Lake Erie this year. It was a huge success.

Osborn MetroPark is truly a community hub. There was so much happening today at the park. There were people celebrating birthdays at the shelters, a group playing disc golf on the 9-hole course, a Wings Over Lake Erie Fall Birding program, a Snake Meet and Greet program, youth soccer with Bay Area Soccer League, an ODNR Boater Education program at the Roger Johnson Nature Center, Osborn MetroPark parkrun, and so much more. We even saw the Ford Tri-Motor plane fly over. What a beautiful day.

We will celebrate the wonders of fall bird migration along Lake Erie. We will explore Osborn MetroPark and the birding hotspots there in search of our feathered friends. No binoculars?
