We meet at various public venue to network and shoot on the first Saturday of each month.

Ladies and Gents, due to the forecast of showers, thunderstorms and significant winds, we are cancelling the North Alabama Photo Meet & Greet for 12/9. Given the proximity of the holidays, we'll look to having our next North Alabama Photo Meet & Greet on January 6th.

For those interested, some of us will be meeting at The Brass Tap of Bob Wallace and South Memorial Parkway at 11am in lieu of the event.

The July edition of Central Alabama Photography Meet & Greetis set for this Saturday at Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park. We started the Central AL events in April and they have been well attended. Join us from 1200-1600 for this free opportunity to shoot with models and photographers from around the region.

I've debated whether to post this because of concern about maintaining the confidentiality of the models involved so I've thought through the wording and I'm able to get the information out without exposing the identity of either model. I'm posting this as a sort of warning/example and in case anyone hears about it through any social media or friends of friends. First, yes, we recently blocked a newer member from this group as well as all of the others that either JJ or I Admin. The decision to block that person was made after we were contacted by a model and their significant other. They clearly stated what had happened, their prior attempts to remedy the situation, and stated there had been some rather serious violations of boundaries. They also stated that they have emails, texts, and messages documenting the problem.

We were contacted at the same time by another model who corroborated those allegations.

No, I will not disclose the identities of the models. We are sometimes approached by models who have encountered sketchy people online and they are willing to publicly tell their story but sometimes the models would rather not share sensitive information in a public forum.

Not surprisingly, I can no longer find the FB or IG profile of the person they complained about. I don't know that I've been blocked but I think it's a safe assumption.

Models, be very careful accepting "Friend" requests from accounts using obvious pseudonyms and new accounts with either no or very few "friends". Yes, everyone starts somewhere but not necessarily with you. The last time I looked, two models that I know and one photographer had connected with that account.

If anyone has any questions you can message me. IF I can answer the questions, I will. The models have clearly stated what I can disclose and have provided their own responses which I have assured them I will copy/paste so nothing gets "lost".

If any of our more seasoned models or photographers would like to comment, feel free. Newer models and photographers, pay attention to the discussion and ask questions.

Yes, is hot and humid but then it’s Alabama in July. As the token redhead, I’ll say “Come on down.” There’s plenty of shade.

The photo of Elise is just to get your attention. There is a group shoot at 1000 Saturday at the Sipsey River Picnic Area, County Road 23, Double Springs, AL. I’m going to try to attend.

I know it’s short notice but there is one model confirmed so…if you can make it that would be great. To get to Double Springs go south on 65 then turn west (right) on 278. Double Springs is about 20-25 miles down the road. I know gas is ridiculous so carpool if you can but be smart about that pesky virus that’s been going around.

The first Saturday in July is on the holiday weekend so we’re debating when to have a shoot. I know people like to travel on holidays BUT gas prices are ridiculous so let us know. Are you good for July 2 or do you prefer the 9th?
