A quieter, “small hands and big imagination” style caption:
The hardest part was not cutting out the doll.
It was saving those tiny little tabs.
One wrong snip and the best dress was ruined before the story even started. So you slowed down, held the paper carefully, and treated every outfit like it mattered.
The living room floor became the whole world for a while.
A couch nearby.
A lamp glowing in the afternoon.
Paper scraps everywhere.
A sibling watching close enough to be annoying.
And one child completely lost in the serious work of making something out of almost nothing.
There was no screen telling you what happened next.
You decided.
The paper doll could go visiting, dress up for church, wear the red outfit, change into the blue one, or live a whole afternoon of pretend adventures right there on the rug.
It was delicate work, but that was part of the charm.
A sheet of paper, a pair of scissors, and enough patience to keep the little tabs attached could turn an ordinary afternoon into a tiny world you made yourself.
