Broadway Theatre League was founded in 1959 by the Business & Professional Women's Club of Huntsville and the shows were held at Huntsville High School! In the early days, touring theatre veterans Joan Bennett, Dorothy Lamour, John Carradine, and John Raitt came to Huntsville. In 1975, BTL moved the performances to the "new" Von Braun Center and brought bigger scale shows to town. The 1990's broug

ht about the now standard weekend performance schedule and the beginning of the mega-musical. All types of Broadway shows have been presented, from blockbuster musicals, to obscure little plays and special once-in-a-lifetime events. Through is all, we have our season patrons to thank - many of whom have been with us for all 64 years! And we couldn't do what we do without our volunteers - those red-vest wearing ushers who devote their time to serve this organization.

"Where are they now?" You might remember the name Michelle Aravena, who was featured in Kip's Korner last November for playing Miss Argentina in the Broadway company of BEETLEJUICE. Well now Kip's pal Michelle is currently treading the boards on Broadway in CABARET at the Kit Kat Club, playing Fritzie Kost as well as understudying the two time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider.

There appears to be international mystery filled with spies, blackmail and intrigue in the VBC Playhouse. It must be our friends at Theatre Huntsville and their production of Ken Ludwig's Moriarty. Your last chance to see Holmes and Watson join forces with American actress Irene Adler to take down cunning criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty and his network of devious henchmen are this weekend.

BE CAREFUL!
Now that our single shows are going on sale weekly between now and the end of October, it is important to be very careful about purchasing tickets. There are very few authorized ticket sellers. Please do not use google searches to find your tickets. Pay attention to the website you are using. It is good practice to go to our website first by typing it in your browser to find the show you are looking for.
