HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS — March 2026 — The Walker County Fair and Rodeo Parade Committee is proud to announce the three distinguished horse riders who will carry the flags in this year’s parade, celebrating the 2026 theme: “Growing Leaders, One Project At A Time.”
Leading the parade with pride and tradition, these riders represent the spirit of leadership, dedication, and community that the Walker County Fair Association embodies.
Lyla Cobbs, a 10th grader at Huntsville High School, will ride as one of the three flag bearers. Lyla’s enthusiasm for her community, the Walker County Fair Association, and her commitment to representing the next generation of leaders make her a shining example of this year’s theme.
Ian Humphrey, a Huntsville High School graduate, brings a wealth of experience to the parade arena. After completing his education at the US Aviation Academy, Ian became a licensed aviation mechanic. His background in the Texas Youth Ranch Rodeo, the Walker County 4-H Horse Club, and participation in AQHA Shows highlight his deep roots in both horsemanship and community involvement.
Jodi Humphrey, Algebra teacher at Huntsville High School, rounds out the trio of flag bearers. A lifelong equestrian, Jodi has competed extensively in AQHA All-Around Events, earning recognition at the World Championships in Jumping and Trail. She has also been named a National High Point winner in Open and Amateur Jumping, showcasing her dedication and excellence in the sport.
The Walker County Fair and Rodeo Parade Committee expressed excitement about this year’s participants, noting that the combination of youth, experience, and community spirit perfectly reflects the Walker County Fair Association motto of “An Investment In Youth Through Community Involvement”, as well as the 2026 theme. "We are thrilled to have such outstanding individuals representing our community and carrying the flags this year," said Shera Bowers, the Parade Committee Chairman.
