I really love articles like this, because it's another example why we love to create art of all kinds (painting, music, poems, etc), and conversely it's also why we enjoy seeing art created by others.
Whether we create the art ourselves or see art created by others, I would have to admit that art really does free us from all the constraints we face through our lives each day. Read on and enjoy and then go do something creative and have some fun.

This picture is of the painting I made for Coach Joye Lee McNelis, head coach of the Southern Miss women's basketball team. Coach McNelis has her big golf event and fundraiser at CaneBrake Country Club in Hattiesburg today and this painting is up for silent auction.

Here are another two completed 2ftX2ft, acrylic on board paintings. The first one with the red, orange, yellow and greys and the second one with the black, yellow and grey. The black, yellow/gold and grey are Southern Miss colors, which is specifically done for a Southern Miss supporter. The Southern Miss fan wants to some art in his Southern Miss room and keep the team colors, but without all the team logos and verbiage (Eagles, SMTTT, Golden Eagles, etc.)
This one was completed a few weeks ago, but never posted, see the three different looks of the same painting. Again using metallic acrylics. This painting has a home and will be shipped tomorrow. (Lighting and angles of the pics play with the colors).
I finished this one a few days ago and it has a home already. I've used a metallic acrylic paint and that was a first for me using acrylic metallic. charcoal, bronze, copper, gold (3), silver, gun metal grey are the colors.
Here is the next 2ftX2ft acrylic on board, it's for a good friend's business. The second photo has a bit more of the original color and it pops a bit more, but the first one is lines up correctly for viewing. Unless I get a pro taking the pics, it's sometimes difficult to hide any light reflection/glare.
I've completed two more 2ftX2ft acrylic on board paintings. Both are similar in color to the one you see here. Anyone notice the colors of this one, remind you of anything? Both of these have homes, it's just a matter of shipping them first thing next week.
NOTE: My iPhone doesn't take the best of pics, it distorts the straight edges of the painting and the straight lines of color.
Here is another acrylic on board 2ft X 2ft completed last week and the guy who now has it on one of his walls. By the way, that is his "I'm happy" look.

Yes, I've been painting and here is one that now sits in the board room of a large corporation somewhere in the SE USA. I've been asked not to use their name for some reason, so I will honor their request.
I'll also have a few more pics up in just a bit of some other paintings.
My good friend and incredibly talented artist Kyle Goddard is having his last show at Oddfellows Gallery before he takes off for his new destination of Kansas City. Come see Kyle and take home one of his works of art before it's too late, and then all of the sudden you see him in NYC and at that point you have to sell a kidney to get one.
