The Guild’s incredible dedication, enthusiasm, and generosity play such an important role in everything we do at HSO, from supporting music education to helping us create unforgettable experiences for our community.

We’re proud to see Sean Ritenauer, Principal Percussionist of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, bringing his incredible talent and creative vision to Sound Bites with Rocket City New Music.

From the HSO stage to Broadway, film and television scores, and performances with some of the nation’s leading orchestras, Sean is an extraordinary part of Huntsville’s music community.

We’ll be at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment on September 2 to cheer Sean and Rocket City New Music on!

The man behind the music...
Sean is the Founder and Artistic Director of Rocket City New Music and Principal Percussionist of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. He's performed on Broadway in Hair, Pippin, Something Rotten!, and Sweeney Todd, and contributed to film and TV scores including Barbie, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He appears regularly with the New York Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra. Sound Bites is his vision made real.
On September 2, he'll be leading Sound Bites through the halls of Lowe Mill.

🎻 Putting Violins in Young Hands!

The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra’s Third-Grade Violin Program brings hands-on music education directly into area classrooms through 10 engaging lessons led by professional Symphony School instructors.

And we bring everything they need: instructors, materials, and violins!

Students learn how to hold and care for a violin, use a bow, play together as an ensemble, and experience the confidence and excitement that comes from learning something completely new.

Schools and homeschool groups interested in bringing the Third-Grade Violin Program to their students are invited to learn more and request information.

Always wanted to learn the violin, viola, cello, or double bass? Maybe you played years ago and have been thinking about picking it up again; now's your chance!

The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Symphony School's Adult String Classes are designed for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced musicians looking for an ensemble to call home.

Choose the level that's right for you:

🎼 Beginner Strings — No experience necessary! Mondays | 5:00–6:00 PM | $175

🎼 Intermediate Strings — Build your skills or get back into playing Mondays | 5:30–6:30 PM | $175

🎼 Advanced Strings — For experienced players ready for more challenging music Mondays | 6:45–8:00 PM | $185

🎼 Horizon Chamber Orchestra — HSO's most advanced adult string ensemble Tuesdays | 6:30–8:00 PM | $200

Classes are taught by professional instructors in a relaxed, friendly, and encouraging environment. No auditions. No pressure. Just great music, great instruction, and the chance to play with others who love music as much as you do.
