A customer purchased this nice cornet through Ebay….valves were sluggish. We cleaned and reoiled the valves only to find that it played really stuffy. We scoped it out and found an old neckless wadded up in one of the crooks. It had been there for many years. Be careful when purchasing used instruments on line! You never know what surprises you might find. And it might not be that great if a deal when you add the repair cost. Anyway…it plays great now!

We had a Fhorn come in that had been stored for a while. They could not figure out why the valves were frozen....after soaking them overnight they finally came out but were covered in this black stuff. After a good cleaning it was discovered that there was a blockage in the horn. We used our endoscope to find that a AA battery had found its way all the way to the 4th valve branch and lodged itself tight. After a highly creative process the battery came out. Lesson here.... clean and play check your instrument before storing it for the summer. That means removing the batteries before it is stored...pro tip #73....FHorns don't take batteries...Just sayin...

A Gemeinhardt 30 flute stamped Elkhart…made in the USA? Look closer…under the keys it is lightly etched China. Be careful when buying band instruments. There are a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of counterfeit brands.
