Molesini Wine Shop is where we buy our outsanding Tuscan wines in Cortona, Italy when we go each Septmeber. See their tour they took to Montalcino to experience the Brunellos of 2010.

Our Big Tuscany Tour 2015 ended with a visit to Benvenuto Brunello 2015, featuring the 2010 Brunello releases! What a great time we had with a private lunch at San Polo and ending with a visit to Casanova Di Neri!

Tuscany 2014 concluded today successfully! Claire and I had a great time meeting Dino and Laura for a spritz to celebrate! Then we had our finale dinner and wine event in the piazza with Molesini Wines holding their weekly wine tasting and dinner at La Loggatta, my favorite restaurant in Cortona--such a treat! We love meeting new people and attending the event tonight were many Americans, some with the UGA art school here in Cortona. A beautiful evening all around! Grazie to all our students and to Cortona for being so warm and welcoming to us always! Grazie!

Next to last day to pay today and we painted architecture and landscapes this morning and then went to the sister city of Cortona, Montepulciano to enjoy the town and wine cellar tours and a sunset dinner. We have had a blast with each other and our guides Dino and Laura of Tuscan Contacts who arranged our excursions. Beautiful weather each day of the workshop. We couldn't be more thankful. And lastly, Claire and I were recognized by Cortona Tuscany on Twitter for a photo I shot of Claire two mornings ago. We got tweet of the week! That landed us tee-shirts from the guys there. Grazie!

Early hike to top of Cortona with Carole! Lake Trasimeno for photography today. We first toured around Castiglione Del Laggos and saw Cojoni de mulo. Look it up! Then pontooned across lake to Isola Maggiore where St. Francis went for isolation and meditation. Beautiful! Long day, lots of pics!

The weather here in Cortona has been perfect! Low to mid 70s and cooler nights. Beautiful blue sky days dotted with a few puffy clouds. Perfect for Plein air painting in this beautiful town. Morning session was a spot that offered architectural options or landscape options and benches. Our students did so well. We had a midday wine tasting at Molesini Wines with Marco and Paulo. We love buying locally made Tuscan wines to ship back. Our afternoon session was learning to paint figures into our scenes. We sipped cappuccinos, tea and coffee as we painted small-scale at Bar Signorelli in the piazza. Included in this photo album are pics of our vantage point from our Hotel Italia on Via Ghibellini. We are virtually steps from the piazza--we love that!

Big day painting with our students--morning session was a landscape from the view from the park. Afternoon session took us to a beautiful street (corridor) where residents live, to paint architectural details. We ended the day driving out of Cortona to a farm-to-table dinner that was magnificent, at Agri Salotto. Wonderful!
