First rehearsal for CUPID'S ARROW, a new musical by SHSU student Caleb Rinehart!

The cast includes Gabriel Journet, Landon Martin, Avery Buras, Teddy Henderson, Eliah Contreras, Alyssa Dorsey, Audrey Rude, Ka'Sean Francis, Joshua Washington, Jeremiah Orr, Estevan Garcia, Madison Gunter, Gadiel Rivera-Rios, Ella Corpuz, Nina James, Tyler Warnie, and Luc Horsley.

CUPID'S ARROW will be presented as a staged reading November 14 at 2:00 and 7:30 pm in the Showcase Theatre (UTC). Admission is free.

Congratulations to Associate Professor Nicholas Graves who is celebrating 10 years of service at Sam Houston State University.

Nicholas is an award-winning scenic designer and educator. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts with emphasis in Design and Technology from Abilene Christian University.

Nicholas serves as Chair of the Department of Theatre and Musical Theatre.

Congratulations to Associate Professor Kyle Craig-Bogard who is celebrating 10 years of service at Sam Houston State University.

Kyle is an award-winning performer and choreographer, as well as an accomplished educator. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre from Baldwin-Wallace College.

Kyle is a member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) and has performed on Broadway, at Radio City Music Hall, on national tours, and at regional theatres across the country and overseas.

This season, Kyle is co-directing and choreographing our upcoming production of CABARET.

Kyle also serves as Coordinator for the Musical Theatre program.

Congratulations to SHSU alum Bethany Nicole Muir who is the new Performance House Manager at Alley Theatre in Houston, TX!

Bethany is an accomplished performer, director, dancer, and photographer. In 2026, she graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Theatre with Acting/Directing emphasis, as well as a double minor in Dance and Marketing. Last season, she was part of the ensemble and served as understudy for the Angel in ANGELS IN AMERICA by Tony Kushner.
