Due to the ongoing pandemic, Amy McCarley’s Roadshow at Home is cancelled. Our state is currently categorized as a hot spot for COVID-19 in the U.S. With cases increasing at an alarming rate, the Safer At Home order issued May 1st by Governor Ivey set to expire later this week was extended today through the end of the month. But because CDC social distancing recommended practices are not being followed consistently by the public, there is truly no end in sight.
The safety of my fans, band, visiting artist friends and presenting staff remain top priority. As I said in an al dot com feature by Matt Wake that covered when my series kickoff date was postponed first by six weeks, then two months and finally, three months, “I am worried for the fate of all those who depend on live music for an income source. But until we find a way to stop the spread of the coronavirus, protecting our at risk population is my number one concern. I just can’t have COVID-19 finding its way to a vulnerable target because of a gathering I helped to assemble.”
