UFI is so excited and thankful to the Pallottine Foundation for their support in the development of the UFI Neighborfood Ecosystem Initiative.

The Pallottine Foundation of Huntington has awarded Pollen8, Recovery Point West Virginia, St. Claire HealthCare, and Unlimited Future, Inc. grants totaling over $1.1 million through its Core Priorities Initiative. The initiative supports projects that address the Foundation’s core focus areas of food insecurity, mental and behavioral health, substance use disorder and to***co use prevention and cessation in 20 counties throughout West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.

“These four organizations provide innovative programming and services that continue to make a lasting impact in our region,” said Janell Ray, Chief Executive Officer of the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington. “Our support will enable them to extend their reach, helping more community members who struggle with food insecurity and those who are seeking treatment for substance use disorder. We are excited to see the systemic changes that result from their work and collaboration with other organizations that have the same goal.”

My Huntington, the Fairfield Community Development Corporation, the A. D. Lewis Community Center and District 5 City Councilwoman Teresa Johnson are partnering to host a cleanup at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1. Volunteers will meet at the A.D. Lewis Community Center, 1450 A.D. Lewis Ave.

All cleanup supplies — litter grabbers, garbage bags and gloves — are being supplied by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Make-It-Shine Program. The Public Works Department will haul away all of the bags that are collected.
