Ballet Repertory Theatre

Ballet Repertory Theatre dancers train and rehearse at the Orange County Dance Center, which has been home to the company since its inception.

Composed of approximately 50 dancers, the company presents three different productions every year: a Spring Gala that consists of a full-length ballet, a Fall Festival that offers a variety of classical and contemporary pieces, and the traditional holiday classic of The Nutcracker. They begin as apprentices and depending on their class work and stage performance, are promoted to the levels of corp

s, soloist, or principal dancer. Dancers typically leave the company once they graduate from high school, usually continuing to dance through college or moving on to professional dance careers. The company's extensive repertoire includes such major works as Cinderella, Coppelia, Giselle, La Bayadère, Swan Lake Act II, Sleeping Beauty Act III, and Orange County's longest-running production of The Nutcracker. Every year, over 300 performers come together to offer 15 shows of the holiday classic, which has become an Orange County staple of 40 years. Artistic Director Anthony Sellars, former Principal Dancer with the Houston Ballet and renowned Master Teacher, and Ballet Mistress Terri Sellars, formerly with the San Antonio Ballet, continue to delight Orange County audiences with original pieces and inspiring choreography. Productions also feature frequent appearances and choreography by guest artists from Utah's acclaimed Ballet West. Ballet Repertory Theatre's main venue is the Golden West College Theater in Huntington Beach, though the company is in no way affiliated with the college. The Ballet Repertory Theatre Association supports the company in all of its endeavors and is a non-profit organization that relies almost entirely on tax-deductible donations (federal tax ID no. 33-0873296). Last night was our annual company banquet! It was a night for the dancers to celebrate their amazing season and honor the seniors. We will miss our 5 wonderful seniors and we know they will go out and do amazing things in the world. , .joy777, .g.pringle and don’t forget about us and remember to come visit often, our family will miss you!! To our teachers, we are so thankful for the opportunities you have given this company! Your dedication to our dancers is never ending!! BRT is so blessed to have you all!!
