EPISODE 1: Beyond the Menu

Please let us know what you think. And PLEASE LIKE and SHARE. This was a blast and a beast to produce, it needs eyes! :)

Today Alex from Land and Sea Provisions takes us behind the curtain at .steakhouse in Quincy, one of New England's hottest restaurants, to pitch some insanely high quality new ingredients to add to the menu.

This is a behind the scenes type of thing I honestly didn't even know existed so I was so excited to be there to witness it, and to document to show all of you.

Jeff Ward joined us from The Educated Fish Co to sample and talk about their fresh and smoked salmons - they were so gorgeous and tasty.

Niman Ranch - sorry for the mispronunciation (I'm the foodie newb) - cooked up to be the tastiest steak I've ever had, tastiest lamb by a mile too. Watching Chef Kevin Long break that thing down was like a masterclass I wish I paid closer attention to. He is so skillful and every morsel we sampled today was just incredible. Incredible.

Welcome behind the scenes everyone. This is going to be a lot of fun.

Thank you Kevin Long, thank you Mason's, and thank you food Gods for blessing my belly.

It's one of our very favorite restaurants and now it's one of our very favorite brunch spots too - Caffe Tosca in Hingham just never disappoints.

We were so psyched when we heard they were doing brunch and even more psyched when we heard they've been doing it about once a month with Aldous Collins!

You get an insanely tasty meal, a comfy atmosphere, beautiful decor surrounding you, a super friendly and attentive staff, and a freaking Aldous Collins show?? So many wins.

The food and drinks were all top top notch. The sub, the salad, the chicken & waffles, and I can see why Greg's Baked French Toast became famous!

And Aldous Collins? The dude is an absolute legend on the South Shore. I've talked with him about weird collab ideas so many times and he has always been so supportive and kind - no matter how horrible my collab ideas have been. lol It was so great to hear him live and watch him interact with the audience. He's a damn pro... and he was kind enough to take time to meet my fam and sing my praises to them (which I thought was truly kind).

Anyway, our love affair with Caffe Tosca continues. This place feels like home.

I'm heading out on a South Shore Farmers Market Tour to find our next batch of South Shore special businesses, bubbling up in the markets.

LIKE this post quick to help local business? Cheers!

Today we're starting at Hingham Farmers Market, which is open Saturdays 9a-1p through the summer season at 95 Station St. in Hingham.

We saw favs like: The Hale Life To Dine For Hippy Pilgrim Mei Mei Dumplings and it's always great catching up with McGuire's Mushrooms and their growing family and operation.

SSS W**D CONTEST: First person who can snap a pic of the Alley W**d Bean Stalk from the video and message it to me here: - wins a styling South Shore Stuff t-shirt. Good luck! (I wonder if there will be a taker...)

NEW ROCK STARS:

Pies by Moira - She has sweet. She has cheddar-topped savory. Just kidding she has nothing. She sells out!!! And now we see why - update: the Apple Crisp pie was so good - we loved that the apples still had a little bite to them. We'll be back for more pie. Congrats on the pivot Moira!! ❤️

Pineapple Xpress Hot Sauce is a delicious locally made pineapple hot sauce. The pineapple flavor is GREAT and so is the heat. It's available in 3 heat levels. I tried the hottest and the heat was nice. Their Verde is really delicious too. And of course I was drawn in like a moth to the Pineapple Xpress name. SMH. So good.

And a special shout out to Uncommon Grounds out of Duxbury, love getting a coffee from them for my farmers market strolling, whose niece Jennifer Lyons was at the market working on a little research project you can help with right from where you are right now.

What a lovely market the Hingham Farmers Market is... and it's BUZZING this year!!

Memorial Day Weekend. There's an incredible display up at South Shore Art Center in Cohasset right now from artist Brian Fox called "In the Valley of the Shadow:
The Cost of Walking with Death."

It's up now through June 12th and it's a display of Brian's solo emotionally charged work, honoring American heroes from World War II, Korea, Vietnam and modern-day conflicts. Brian Fox has commemorated their sacrifices in vivid and unforgettable detail.

It's a gallery that will make you feel. A gallery that will make you think. One that will stick with you, no doubt.

Thank you to Barry Invernizzi from Invernizzi Construction for helping make it happen!

This is an important display - we highly recommend it - it's up until June 12th at South Shore Art Center in Cohasset.

SUPERSTAR RESTAURANT: Bad Bunny

We're in Puerto Rico on a family vacay and while here we thought it'd be fun to check out Bad Bunny's restaurant Lala Puerto Rico and share it with y'all in case you're curious. Also to find out if it's just a celebrity money-grab or legit.

Very happy to say that from our POV, it's legit.

La La is in the very cool The Mall of San Juan - co-owned by Bad Bunny's manager, songwriter, artist Noah Assad and executive chef Guillermo Lopez Folch - and serves up contemporary cuisine which has won it's share of awards. They won OpenTable Diners’ Choice 2024 Award, both the AIA Florida and AIA Puerto Rico 2024 Design & Honor Awards, it was also named one of Time Magazine's World's Greatest Places.

The food was creative and delicious. The portions were just right and we felt like the prices were very fair, right in line with other restaurants but we figured the Bad Bunny name would add an easy 100% to the bill - which doesn't appear to be the case.

No matter WHO owns this place we could see it being successful almost anywhere.

Where a lot of celebrity restaurants run on empty fame, this restaurant cooks with heart and soul. And the service is top notch too.

The 16th Annual Fine Art of Photography Juried Show is up now at Plymouth Center for the Arts.

On today's Beyond the Frame Dave from the Frame Center takes us inside the show and chats with supremely talented photographer Sean Goss (of Goss Photo), who has helped judge in the past, has his own entry this year, and printed a good portion of the art on the walls here for the submitting artists.

The opening was shoulder-to-shoulder and a free food sellout! So many gorgeous pieces, have a walk, have a look, and maybe one will end up on YOUR wall! But even if not.... go take it all in before the show wraps May 31st!

If you have art we need to see message us or drop us a hello in the comments!

Who won "The Taste of the South Shore"?
Watch and find out!

Last night the Hale Family YMCA - Quincy (South Shore YMCA) threw one heck of a party! The Taste brings together food and beverage pros from around the South Shore to mix, mingle, do good, and compete for BEST BITE and BEST SIP.

It was great seeing so many friends, neighbors, talented chefs, and feeling that energy! David Lombardo and Kennedy from Karson & Kennedy on Mix 104.1 were the hosts and they did such a great job sharing stories of the Y and keeping the energy high.

SUPER great night, if you missed it don't do that again next year, and we'll see you then!!
