07/30/2020
I hope this finds you and your families well and safe. Over the past 15 years I have had the joy of watching my YAS students grow and develop within YAS’s mission to Elevate Students Through the Performing Arts, therefore, it is with a very heavy heart that I let you know that YAS will be permanently closing our doors August 31, 2020.
COVID-19 has forced me to make some very difficult decisions about the future of YAS. In studying different states reopening strategies and working with local heath officials, it appears large groups will be the last to open. Being a live theatre company, with large assembly of 30-200 people at an event, we were not be able to complete our 2019-2020 season nor begin the 2020-2021 season. YAS depends not only on class and production tuitions to afford the daily business expenses but also on ticket and concession sales. Despite the generosity of our YAS community, we have exhausted our emergency gap funds and can no longer support the overhead of our location.
What does this mean for our families, students and members? We ask that you allow 7-14 days for us to process all reimbursements listed below.
*Our Believer's Wall donators…we will reimburse 100% of the gift funds you donated. Thank you so very much for your generous gifts.
*Our Matilda jr families.…we will reimburse 100% of all tuitions paid.
*Our Matilda jr ticket families…we will reimburse 100% of tickets purchased.
*We are working to hopefully create a socially distant safe celebration event at YAS for our students to safely visit YAS before August 31st.
Information will follow soon.
I have been blessed to work with so many beautiful families and will miss my precious students deeply. While the YAS doors may be closing, it is my hope that all members of the YAS family will take meaningful friendships, experiences and memories forward.
YAS FOREVER in our hearts,
Elyse
