Web Gallery | Motion Commotion Challenge

Recently, I have entered one of my pieces into a challenge at Amcaw.org. (Alliance of Metal Clay Artists Worldwide) It is the Motion-Commotion challenge and the piece has to move in some way.

I decided to enter “Winifred” the bat. You’ve probably seen me wearing her. She’s a sweet thing and loves to swing on her branch-that’s her movement. She is made of sterling silver and she has hematite eyes. I absolutely had a fun time making her.

Yay! It's just about over, just a few minor things need finishing. Let the celebration begin. Several merchants have decorated actual Road Cones used in the construction of Main St. Come by Uncommon Art, and see the Van Gogh inspired cone, complete with glow in the dark stars. Cookies and refreshments will be available.

It's Art Hop time! We are having an arty construction party at Uncommon Art, since there is so much construction going on in front of our building. Rumor has it, we will be getting our new sidewalk on Monday. Yay!

We will be here until 8, so come on down and get some rocky road ice cream, Orange barrel punch, and other goodies.

The June 9th Art Hop Yields To Construction

Get ready for the next Art Hop on June 9th!

Uncommon Art will host an Arty Construction party with construction-themed refreshments such as Orange Barrel punch and Rocky Road ice cream. The artwork on display will be “under construction” and the artists will talk about their processes to give visitors a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world of making art.

The sidewalk is all torn up in front of the studio. Now they are taking up big chunks of the road. It's noisy, and the building is shaking. I swear at one point, that they hit the building-there was a loud bang, and a big shake.

Guys, please be careful. There is no replacing this historical 1833 building that survived the Great Hudson Fire.
