Even though I’ve been a bit limited as to how how much I can tattoo and paint over the past few months, I’m still plugging away as much as possible. I managed to knock out these corners to a big flash collaboration project I’ve got going on. The way this Midwest project is shaping up, I can’t wait to share the completed project with everyone! COVER-UPS!!! Ok, we all like tattooing a fresh, clean, untouched canvas, but that’s not always the case. Many of us have made bad choices on tattoos, whether it be the design, the artist, the ex*****on or the care, we’re than stuck with what we chose. Then there’s the cover-up of a cover-up. Now cover-ups can get spendy, as it will take more work to get it covered opposed to an empty slate. Choices can be limited, designs altered, and some people refuse to do them. Fair enough. Then you have a black and gray sleeve of Greek Mythology comes in that requires a cover-up over colored bio-wrecked madness. It can be done.

The lesson; Choose your tattoos carefully from the start. Don’t just expect your fresh google tattoo pic to go straight to your arm and look just like the fresh tattoo online. Choose your artist carefully. Look at their experience. Look at healed pieces they’ve done. The best, see the art and artist in person after the tattoos are healed and settled. All of this could prevent you from even worrying about a cover-up in the first place.

This is just one of the many reasons I love coming to work. My shop, Ink Factory Tattoos. I’ve always been in Hudson since 1998, building up clientele and moving throughout town to even better spots. I’ve got over 3 decades of tattoo designs covering my walls, that I get to stand and look at stare in awe of what my friends, myself, colleagues, mentors and heroes have created. I still paint flash to this day, because it’s important, therapeutic, and down right amazing when the lightning strikes. Every tattoo shop should have art to enjoy and inspire you with ideas on what to create or have your artist create for you. If it doesn’t, are you really in the right place to get tattooed? Put down the phone and just take it all in. If you’d like to see more, such as the artists rooms etc, come on down. I just wish I had enough wall space to show even more.
