It's not On30, nor narrow gauge, but it was live Steam and they were TRIPLE headed! A fine day at the Little River Railroad's 20th anniversary weekend in Coldwater, MI. A great day!

This is the latest 3D print from Les Davis. This shell was designed from the actual Brookville critter that made an appearance at the NNGC in Pittsburgh last fall.

I slapped some paint oon it with a used, but not abused, in service critter. It sits on the rails as this will be delivered to my friend, Bob Lee, in Harrisburg later in June, and what he uses as a drive will be up to Bob

Contributing to the now famous and gathering more contributors of Front End Friday, we find PO&N, 4-4-0 #1 (the 'Boss' locomotive) trundling down past Osceola Station with a Sunday afternoon special for the locals in all the towns. It was a good way to cool down in the Summer and the locals would board the train in open gondolas and for the ladies who were more concerned with their hats than cooling off, there was room in the opened windowed passenger cars in this c.1905 photo.

Contributing to Side Tank Tuesday, we witness P.O&N. 2-6-6-4ST, #18, having the fireman finished topping the tanks off and back in the cab, continuing it run eastward. The 18 only faced one way as it was too long for any turntable on the property.

I hope that you enjoy watching the only 2-6-6-4ST that Alan Carroll kitbashed using B'mann 2-6-6-2 boiler, and mechanism, the cab and shortened tank from a Forney with scratchbuilt side tanks all before 3D printing. I like watching it run in either directon.

FREIGHT CAR FRIDAY!

Here we see the last of the outside braced wooden grain cars, the 47. Years ago, the PO&N car shop built ten of these cars in the 40 number series for grain service for the rural community. As covered hoppers evolved, the need for these wood cars for grain service greatly deminished and they were placed in LCL service. Later in their lives, two were lost in the lumber yard fire near Shiwassee Station. The other seven were stored deadline where nature put her mark on them and were eventually scrapped by fire to send the metal parts to the War effort.

This car kit is called by it's creator, David M Mason, "a scratch kit" which gave you the laser cut wood parts and the details had to be added by the builder. A great kit to build! This car took 1st Place in the revenue freight cars category at the NNGC in Hickory a couple of years ago.

Contributing to Front End Friday (Critter Edition), we find find the PO&N yard switcher working the interchange at Cohoctah Center Shiawassee River & Rattalee Lake (SR&RL) interchange. The re**er will be heading north on the SR&RL to Bancroft to aid with the late Summer harvest re**er shortage.

The critter is a Garry Cerrone scratchbuild on a B'mann Trolley mechanism and the re**er is a Mount Blue model.

Contributing to Weathered Wednesday, we find 700, a PO&N covered hopper used to move grain more efficiently to the interchange in Howell. This is the only one of its kind on the railroad to be built as the War (railroad time frame is 1943) has limited the availability of steel. The 700 was the first built along with two three bay hoppersin 1939.

This car is an American Flyer S scale model that rides on the B'mann Vulcan trucks with 148 KaDee couplers. Weathered includes acrylics and powders.
