Meet Melody Calvert, the maker behind Bow Creek — and she’s been part of the Wild Roots family for almost a year. 🤍
Melody creates colorful, handmade magnets, mini notebooks, and magnetic bookmarks designed to bring a little charm into everyday spaces. Here at Wild Roots you’ll find her magnets — perfect little pieces that brighten up more than just the fridge. People use them on lockers, tool benches, office boards, and all kinds of creative spots.
Her business actually started back in 2016 during a long winter. She and a friend were stuck inside while their husbands were busy with video games and music, and they just wanted something creative of their own. What started as a fun way to pass the time turned into something much bigger — and eventually each of them grew their own version of the business.
And the name Bow Creek?
Melody has always loved bows, and living in Michigan means you’re never too far from a creek… so the name just felt right.
After 10 years of making magnets, she still loves creating them. Right now she’s especially fond of the magnets made with tiny canvases, but if you’ve browsed her display at Wild Roots you probably know the bottle cap magnets are a big favorite.
Her brand is perfectly described in three words:
Dainty. Cute. Functional.
When Melody talks about Wild Roots, she shared something that meant a lot:
