Gotta get one more duck out of the brain before moving back to geeky projects. This one was started a year ago then shoved into the “for later” pile.

Goose is happy to supervise drawing these punk looking hooded merganser ducks🦆😉

Duck Stamp Update: ok, it’s done! Now all that’s left is the suuuuuper specific matting and prepping necessary before it gets mailed. Even when this loses, I’ve already scored big when I showed Pappy how far I got over the weekend. One of the first things out of his mouth: “Huh, that hill looks familiar…” Massive win for me😊🦆

Another BIG thank you to Jim C. for being my patron on this challenge!

Sooooo…I’ve been working on a thing. Unfortunately, all my updates went to my regular FB and I have been severely lacking on this one. Gonna have to change that.

I am taking a plunge and submitting a piece to the 2026 Federal Duck Stamp Competition. With financial help from a generous patron and a pretty good understanding that my Machina style has a really low chance of winning, I’m still pushing forward with this Blue-Winged Teal.

I just have some smaller details to finish and I can call it done in time for the August 15th due date. More updates to come! I promise.
