The Remi Awards brought the house down. πŸ†

Red carpet. Gold statues. Filmmakers, producers, and storytellers from around the world stepping into the spotlight they've earned. From Gold to Platinum, Special Jury to Silver, every Remi represents a story told with craft, courage, and heart.

This is what 55+ years of championing independent cinema looks like.

Not just awards on a wall, but a community celebrating what it means to create something real. The connections made in that room, the handshakes, the tears, the pride... that's the heartbeat of WorldFest Houston.

For nearly six decades, we've been the stage where independent voices get the recognition they deserve. And every year, the bar gets higher.

πŸ† Interested in sponsoring WorldFest 60? Partnership opportunities are available now.

πŸŽ₯ Filmmaker submissions for WorldFest 60 open in August. We can't wait to see what you'll bring to the screen.

WF59 wrapped. WF60 is already in motion. 🎬

Fifty-nine years in, and we just keep going. This festival ran on passion, community, and 50+ volunteers who showed up and gave 400+ hours of their time. From filmmaker hospitality to the Remi Awards Gala, every moment was earned.

But we're not done. There's a $16,000 gap left to close as we build toward our 60th anniversary. Every contribution through the Hunter Todd Legacy Fund goes directly to filmmaker programming, education, and community events. Contributions are fully tax deductible.

A few things to keep on your radar right now. Duplicate award prices go up July 1, so if you've been meaning to order extra trophies or certificates for your cast and crew, order before then to lock in current pricing. The Garden Oaks Theater also needs our support before June 30. Houston needs this arts and film center to survive. Visit Arthousehtx.org to help make it happen.

Looking ahead, WorldFest 60 lands April 30 through May 8, 2026 in Houston. Film submissions open mid-August. Short, doc, feature, experimental... we want to see it all. ✨

The office is open this summer every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon in July. Come hang, help with Worldflix, festival archives, and WF60 planning. Extra hands are always welcome.

60 editions of fearless, independent cinema. Are you ready to make history? πŸ†

Submit your film at worldfest.org. Link in bio. Follow so you don't miss a thing. πŸŽ₯

Katy kept making things happen. Even when it was costing her everything. 🎬

Last year, she lost her dad. She was working two jobs. And she still showed up for the festival. From the outside, it looked like strength. On the inside, she was running on empty.

For two months after, she was just... sick. Exhausted. And she knew something had to change. πŸ’›

She already had the tools, yoga nidra, breathwork, ways to find ease in the middle of chaos. But that wasn't enough anymore. She had to build it into the system. Into WorldFest itself.

That's how WorldFest Wellness was born. ✨

A space woven into the festival so every creative mind can find a moment of rest, and come back to do even better work. Not just at the festival. Year-round.

If this resonates with you, your story belongs on our stage. We'll see y'all next year at WorldFest 2027. πŸŽ₯

🎬 Filmmakers, submissions open mid-August. Link in bio to get notified first.

πŸ† Sponsors, if you want to invest in the whole creative, not just the work, let's talk. Link in bio.

Day 5 was all about creativity, connection, and community. 🎬
We began the day with Yin + Soundbath, then dove into conversations about music in film, the future of filmmaking, personal growth, and staying grounded as creatives. Throughout the day, filmmakers, artists, and industry professionals gathered at WorldFest Village to learn, share ideas, and build new relationships.
As evening arrived, audiences filled the theaters for powerful stories from around the world, including The Fire in Our Hearts (Canada), UnMarry (Philippines), The Legend of Juan Jose Mundo (USA), and our Oscar-qualifying short film showcase.
That's one of the things that makes WorldFest special. It's not just what happens on screenβ€”it's the conversations, collaborations, and community that form around it.
For 59 years, WorldFest-Houston has been bringing together storytellers from around the globe, and we're just getting started.
Think your film belongs here? Submissions for the 60th Annual WorldFest-Houston open in August.
And if you're a company, organization, or community leader looking to support independent film, cultural exchange, and the future of storytelling, we'd love to talk.
See you at WorldFest 60. ✨

We're looking for sponsors. 🎬

Here's what that actually means. Your donation is tax-deductible, and it puts a student filmmaker in the same room as the directors who are actively shaping the future of independent film. For free. Because of you. πŸ™Œ

They get to ask real questions. Learn real skills. Go back to their creative spaces and make the stories the world needs to hear.

That's the kind of impact that sticks. πŸŽ₯

Want to be a part of that? Hit the link in our bio to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.

And filmmakers, we see you too. πŸ‘€ Submissions open mid-August! Follow the link in our bio to stay in the loop and be ready when the doors open.
