ARTreach Nonprofit Arts Network We develop unique programs that teach expressive arts, and that also help individuals develop a sense of self worth.

About ARTreach

ARTreach is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides mentoring and art-related programs to a growing population of children at risk and to others in need. These programs introduce, and provide an opportunity to practice, life skills that can help address issues such as student apathy, social dysfunction, grief, drug abuse awareness and prevention, health and recovery. ARTrea

ch recruits volunteers and trains professional teaching artists to manage and staff programs. We also secure the necessary funding to deliver a range of quality art, drama, music and dance programs to under-served communities and neglected populations that may not otherwise experience the arts as a part of the lives. Our organization leverages its core strengths by establishing active collaborations with local social service organizations, juvenile probation departments and independent school districts. ARTreach also utilizes resources available through other non profit art, theater and music organizations, plus local art businesses, to augment our art and educational outreach services.

An amazing example of how beautiful art can be using materials found around the house.

We had a very relaxing class at Campanile. Collaging is always a fun way to create art.

It’s sunshine and blue skies ahead with our friends at Pegasus. It’s never too late to learn how to paint!

Our teaching artists, Karen Hellstern and Suzanne Alessandri, did a wonderful project with the residents at Pegasus Landing of Tanglewood today. Art is healing and we are grateful for the opportunity to share it with every day through our programs.

We had a magical day with the students if Lamar School District at their Back to School festival. We made wind socks, magic wands, tambourines and painted Seed pots. Everyone went home with an armful of cool giveaways and excitement for the new school year. Thanks Lamar School District for including us!

Art that tells a story. 🎨💛

This week FBPFY welcomed back Karen Hellstern and Suzanne Alessandri from ARTreach Texas () for another incredible Mixed Media Art session — and this one was truly special.

Using watercolors and First Nations and Native Art as their guide, our youth created their own animal inspired pieces while learning the cultural significance behind each animal. Every color, every shape, every stroke carried meaning — and our youth brought it all to life in their own unique way.

The talent and creativity in that room was something else. 💛

Thank you Karen and Suzanne for not just teaching art but using it to connect our youth to something bigger than themselves!
