In 1966, the most famous sports trophy in history, trophy for soccer’s World Championship called the World Cup, was stolen from an exhibition in downtown London. An exhaustive investigation by Scotland Yard netted nothing. Seven days

after the theft, a dog named Pickles found the Cup under a garden hedge in SE London. This part of the story is true. After overhearing the robber’s plot to seal the World Cup, the 2 Corbett kids, Pickles owners, their neighborhood friends and their dogs created an ingenious plan to steal it back. They had hilarious, hair-raising adventures as they recovered the Cup and saved the day for England. This part’s not exactly true but it makes a great story. The kids’ friend, Martin Burniston, BBC sports reporter, walks the new-to-soccer reader through what the World Cup is, importance of England hosting it, short history of how England invented, then developed soccer, injecting fascinating true World Cup facts that will amaze even the lifelong soccer fan as he helped the kids and dogs recover the Cup and meet the famous soccer stars.

We are LIVE on Amazon. Paper back can be shipped in 2-3 days but the hard back will still take 3-4 Weeks :((( We will release it at the London Book Fair there Apr 4-7 for world wide distribution.

BIG BIG NEWS!!! Pickles is now Pickles and the Stolen World Cup. Last week in March it will be available on Amazon in hard back, soft back, audio book and Kindle!. Still 10% of the purchase price will be donated to animal shelters. If we sell enough books we will do a board game, video game and then a theme park in Orlando! Tell all your mates.

Mates...on Saturday England beat Germany in the 2020 Euros...First time we beat Germany in a major tournament since 1966 World Cup!!! Looks like things are looking up for UK and maybe we will get the 2030 World Cup back in England. If that happens we'll have to get the gang together again and make SURE the trophy stays safe...if not we'll fine it again :))

Sunday March 20th marks the 50th anniversary that the World Cup was stolen from downtown London and Sunday March 27th was the day that we dogs found and returned the World Cup to the FA! That was the basis for our whole story...amazing it was 50 years ago!!
