Founded in 2004 by Vern Kirby a retired businessman, Karaoke-a-gogo was one of the first karaoke hosting companies in Houston to support multiple Kj's (karaoke jocks) in weekly venues in West Houston. We enjoyed this pposition with about twenty host over a period of seven years. In 2012 the karaoke business had become very competitive and rates paid for shows decreased dramatically. We discontinue
d the support of many of our shows in December of 2012. Today Vern Kirby has continued to host karaoke shows in leading venues five nights a week. Experience is always the best teacher and Vern has personaly hosted over 1500 shows and supported thousands more. Great sound and fair rotations are two factors that make every show hosted by Vern be it's best. If you want to participate or if you just want entertainment, you won't be disappointed when your host is Vern! In 2021 after the pandemic, Vern developed a condition know as “dry eye”. His eyes would swell shut after a show and progressively got worse until on April 19th 2021 Vern stopped hosting weekly shows. Doctors have not found a cause and have tested him for all know cause. Vern smoked Ma*****na for over 50 years and used CBD for almost 7 years. The possibility that an excess of cannabis use may the cause and Vern decided to stop the use of both ma*****na and CBD. He has written a book about his experience with cannabis and reasons to stop now. He is neither 100% for or against it’s use, but feels it should be both legal and used in moderation. Vern has come out of retirement to host weekend shows only.
