Hello friends! It’s been a minute so please let me reintroduce myself! My name is Julia McLaurin and I’m a Houston based pop artist. My work turns everyday icons of modern culture, like emojis, memes and familiar foods, into large-scale ceramic sculptures. My background is in psychology and biology (Texas longhorn forever 🤟), with a masters in microbiology. I grew up running around the Glassell school of art, and still frequent the classes at the art school. My first language is Polish, I can eat a jar of pickles in one sitting, and Warsaw will always have a piece of my heart. Today I work in ceramics, photomontage, and digital imagery. My work has been collected internationally, including a permanent acquisition of my emoji installation at the Houston Hobby Airport. I was awarded best new exhibitor at spectrum Miami in Dec 2025. I am determined to forge the path for women artist to succeed. I’m and avid mindset book ju**ie (Napoleon Hill being my fav), and am a big believer in personal development and professional growth. I believe art is for everyone which is why I founded JuliArt Clay Studio , where we teach clay classes and host creative events. If I’m not at the studio, I’m at home with my hubs Jason and our three girls. Oh and goats. I have two Nigerian Pygmy goats that keep me running around like a crazy person and always remind me that hay, it’s going to be ok! Currently on view is my ceramic bake sale Mont Art House and am preparing to exhibit some work at the first event Affordable Art Fair Texas in Houston October 15th-18th.
