When I was in college, I was captivated by a painting at a nearby art museum: “The River Seine at Chatou” by Andre Derain. No matter what my mood, when I looked at it, I smiled. When I left, I felt happy. My goal as an artist is to do for others what Derain did for me...to lighten a mood and bring a smile….a pretty top-knotch way to make a living in my book!

Meet Zander and Laila, who definitely have the fine life. There is not a holiday or birthday that they do not celebrate to the fullest. Their life is full of stuffies and beautifully decorated dog treats from The Doggie Express ❤️ … they are definitely spoiled rotten! 38 playing card paintings now done! Hoping to be finished with this deck in mid November!

And if I haven’t mentioned, I have decided to do a second deck because many people have asked for it. I have 15 people who have reserved spots so far in that second and final deck. If that interests you and you would like to feature your furrever love, send me a message ☺️

Awh Friday moment… this kitten came knocking on my door a couple of weeks ago. You can imagine how that went. lol! Got all her shots the next day, but my Siamese was not at all amused. Fortunately, my Russian blue kitty loves her. But I needed to get my Siamese on board. A friend of mine said, buy them a toy to play together. This video is pretty funny because they scare each other at the very end. But it has worked! oh, and her name is Cricket.

Today is Open Studios! Pop by and say hiya!

And here’s a card from the hearts suit that I couldn’t show you until now. It was a surprise. My client bought the playing card painting for her mother and put all of her mom’s past dogs on it.

Jude was her heart dog so that’s why she has a blue “ribbone” label.

Reggie was the blonde one of the group so he got the blonde ale.

Dudley was an unusually large greyhound so he got the extra stout label.

Oscar was all black so he got the Negra Modogo label. I’m also told that he was a very complicated boy. 😂

Ziggy and Jess were her first dogs. Her future husband stopped her to ask her about her dogs. And then the rest was history. That’s why they get the double IPA Lovehound.

And then there’s Esme. She was a small whippet with a lineage name, the Duchess. So royal light seemed appropriate for her.
