Still thinking about the magic of August Wilson in the Park! ✨🎭

August Wilson is one of the most influential playwrights in American theatre. His work preserves stories, voices, and everyday experiences that continue to resonate across generations, reminding us why it’s so important to keep gathering and sharing these stories.

It is an honor to celebrate his work and legacy. We hope to continue doing this for years to come!

Stay connected with us to be the first to hear when the 2027 date is announced.

Until next time!

This year’s August Wilson in the Park would not have been possible without our incredible event partner, MECA!

Founded in 1977, MECA is a community-based non-profit BIPOC organization committed to the healthy development of under-served & under represented families through arts and cultural programming, the promotion of academic excellence, support services, and community building.

When MECA reached out to us last fall to be part of their Black History programming, we immediately knew it would be a meaningful partnership. From opening their space for rehearsals, to hosting the event, to supporting us throughout the entire process, their generosity and commitment made this year’s production truly special.

A huge thank you to Armando and the entire MECA team for believing in this vision and helping bring it to life. 🎭✨

From the staged reading of King Hedley II, to the music, food, vendors, and the incredible energy in the crowd, this day was one to remember and the perfect close to Black History Month! 🖤

Moments like this are only possible in community and we’re so grateful to the cast, crew, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and every single person who showed up to celebrate the legacy of August Wilson with us.

If you captured any moments from our event, please share them and tag us! Thank you again. See you next year! 🎉
