🎶 NEW YOUTUBE VIDEO PREMIERE! 🎶

As America marks its 250th anniversary, we’re excited to share our performance of Howard Hanson’s beautiful Symphony No. 2, “Romantic” — one of the most sweeping and heartfelt American symphonies ever written.

A passionate champion of American music, Hanson spent 40 years leading the Eastman School of Music and devoted much of his career to giving American composers a stronger voice on the concert stage. His own music remained unapologetically lyrical and Romantic, even as much of the musical world around him moved in a more modern direction.

Written in 1930 for the 50th anniversary of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Romantic Symphony is filled with soaring melodies, rich orchestral colors, and an unforgettable final theme. ❤️🎶

▶️ Watch the YouTube premiere tonight at 8:00 PM Central Time and let us know your favorite moment in the comments!

❤️ Love what you hear? Join us on October 24 at 7:00 PM at the Wortham Theater Center as we open our 27th season with Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9!
