Through Indian Dance in the Diaspora: Traditions & Innovations, (2001), Samskriti was able to reach a broader audience, by inviting scholars, dance historians, choreographers and performers from India, Canada, UK and the US, and by publicizing the event to arts communities all over the world. This historical event in the Indo-American arts scene earned Samskriti a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for conducting The First International Conference in Kuchipudi, in 2003. In 2011 Samskriti presented its third dance conference – “Indian Dance in a Global Context” featuring the world renowned Kalakshetra Repertory Dance Company in their maiden US performance of Spanda (Vibration) and Leela Samson as the Keynote Speaker. Samskriti’s entrée into the field of visual art began with "The Lesser Known Indian Painting Traditions", conducted in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts, the University of Houston’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and the Asia Society Texas Center. This was followed with "Miracle on the Mountain", a conference on the paintings of the world famous Ajanta Caves (2009) and "Tanjore: A Confluence of Cultures" (2010). On Dec 1, 2012, Samskriti will be presenting its fourth arts conference - "Manifestations of Shiva", once again in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. This will culminate with a performance by the Anjali Dance Company, "Shivoham", at the Kaplan Theater, Jewish Community Center.
