This Black History Month, BANF is proud to give the spotlight to Social Movement Contemporary Dance Theater, a 2025 Houston Cultural Treasure Accelerator Awardee, for illuminating social truths through powerful, movement-based storytelling. Their performances reflect the kind of cultural leadership and truth-telling BANF is committed to supporting.

This February 26, Social Movement Contemporary Dance Theater takes the stage at the University of North Texas as part of the 2026 UNT Fine Arts Series.

Their choreography blends powerful storytelling and contemporary technique to explore identity, injustice, and memory. This Black History Month, they invite audiences to witness movement as resistance and reflection.

Supported by BANF, Social Movement continues to redefine how dance serves culture.
