WARNING: FLASHING LIGHTS!
I made a Zoetrope! A Zoetrope is basically an old timey toy from long ago that gives the illusion of motion, I just made an electronic version. By blinking the light rapidly in a dark room you can hide the structure moving and you just see an animation. The darker the room the better this works and it still works in person but it works better through a camera. The animation is of a cheetah running.
The light is too bright, and I can't get the cheetah to look like it's staying in the middle, but I'm still happy with this!
The electronics was an Arduino Uno, a 6V DC motor and a 10mm led.
The frames of the cheetah running was 3D printed using Transparent PLA at the base and Black PLA for the silhouette of the cheetah. The structure of the Zoetrope is just Silver PLA designed in FreeCAD.
I can upload the STL files if anyone cares enough, just let me know.
The code is just rapidly blinking an LED and running a DC motor full speed. I can upload it to github but there's really nothing more than that.
