‘Ello, Day 5 - last day! (And some other random pictures thrown in).

Hope you enjoyed the rendition of The Worm from Labyrinth. He started off as a horror piece with my sketching, but turned out pretty cute. I already see how I’d improve on it though lol.

Shout-out to my pumpkin carving homies for being good bros and welcoming me to the crew. Especially, because you all hauled pumpkins bigger than I am to my table lol!

One of the pumpkins rotted pretty bad on the last day, so we got to display my Hogwarts castle on the trail. So I guess I’m a star now ⭐️
I learned so much this past week: observing efficiency, learning how to gut hug freaking pumpkins, managing decaying pumpkins, and how to put on a great show.

Chicago people were super friendly and it was nice getting to share my nerdy craft with others outside of Texas. Thanks .olton for asking me to join the team!

Night 2!

I did not take any other photos of the day, I tend to forget to document my life. It’s a great thing for living, but terrible for social media.

Anyway, I am crazy proud of how far I’ve come since I started as a little spunky pumpkins carver.
We had a great crowd last night, but it was chilly! 🥶
The people of Chicago are so nice and it was a blast talking nerdy to everyone.

NIGHT OF 1000 JACK ‘O LANTERNS!

Holy crap, this week has been nothing short of amazing. Show day 1 was yesterday.
I’ve met an amazing crew of people that I’ve felt instant friendship vibes. So many hard workers. I drew most of the silly faces along the trail with the bad ass

We carved 1,000 pumpkins in 2 days, placed them along the trail, and then i got to carve alongside 3 other carvers last night. The NY team carved 75 fantastic portrait pumpkins! All of these will be refreshed next week. So if you are in Chicago, come see us at the Botanic Gardens 🎃

I gotta say, people in the Chicago area are super friendly and I’m from down south, so that’s saying something lol!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of Carving in Dallas, TX for Central Market and their opening of Oktoberfest!
I had a great time chatting with families while I carved and surprised the store manager with his likeness - shout out to the idea from the employees lol!

This weekend I will be back at it with the Sugar Land Fall Festival 🎃

Met new cool people and added some clients!

Had a blast getting to perform my carving of Anakin LIVE at the evening art event last night. I think Anakin is my absolute favorite carve. I put a lot of love into that one lol.

Goodbye 2024 and Hello to 2025 🥳

I am very grateful for the year 2024 brought. There were a lot of great things despite the fact I ended the old year and started the new year being sick.

This year I got to expand my art work. I dabbled in watercolor, improved my foam pumpkin art, had fun learning new technical with biodegradable pumpkins (learned the hard way to not forget that type in your trunk if you live in Texas… bc it will be a hazmat situation), and had my first ever month long show during the month of October!

It was a blast and EXHAUSTING. I hope for many more opportunities for growth this year. Honestly, I want to focus less on competing with myself and focus more on exploration/curiosity. I feel like that worked out well last year :)

Cheers to the old and the new. See you around in 2025!

BLUEY!!

Week 3 down 💙 I carved Bluey in honor of my niece and nephew Charleigh and Liam. They love Bluey and since I can’t see them till the holidays, I wanted to have them with me in spirit 🎃

Gary from SpongeBob was also very fun to carve. I feel more comfortable carving animals in sculpture than faces 🤣 my brain knows what to do, but not my hands lol. Though, I did have fun making a twist on the classic Jack o’Lantern.
