Houston Dance Works Building confidence through dance since 2011. From our tiniest 18-month-old movers to adults, our students are the heartbeat of our studio.

Houston Dance Works is conveniently located for the Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, Shady Acres, Timbergrove, Heights, and surrounding areas. Houston Dance Works provides positive, quality dance instruction to children from the age of two years old to adult. Every child deserves the opportunity to be a part of an extra-curricular activity that is fun and promotes creativity and an increased level of self

esteem. Our classes address the needs of each dancer from beginner to advanced. We offer a variety of classes including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Drill Team Prep, Mommy and Me, and more! We stress proper behavior, respect for self and others, performing skills, proper body conditioning, and responsibility.

Some moments remind us just how special the HDW family truly is. ❤️

Watching our alumni return to the studio and share the floor with our current dancers in contemporary class with Ms. Belle was a beautiful full-circle moment. Seeing generations of dancers connected through their love of dance is something we never take for granted.

No matter how many years pass, the friendships, memories, and lessons built within these walls remain. We are so grateful to the dancers who came back to inspire, encourage, and dance alongside the next generation of HDW dancers.

Once an HDW dancer, always an HDW dancer. ✨

Happy International Tap Dance Day! 👞✨

Today, May 25th, we celebrate the rhythm, history, artistry, and joy of tap dance and we also celebrate the birthday of the legendary Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, whose impact on tap dance continues to inspire generations. ❤️

At Houston Dance Works, dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and levels came together to celebrate our shared love for tap by performing one of the most iconic tap combinations of all time, the Shim Sham.

This special video production was brought to life by Mr. Sergii, whose creativity, energy, and passion helped make this celebration so memorable. 🎬✨

Historic weekend for HDW! 💙✨

This was an optional holiday weekend competition for solos and duets, and we are so proud of the five HDW Accelerated dancers who chose to spend their weekend competing onstage and representing HDW so beautifully.

For the first time ever, HDW brought home TWO Crystal Awards — an extremely difficult achievement in Showstopper’s exceptionally competitive Junior and Teen Elite divisions — along with an All-Star Dancer recognition and two 2nd Overall placements. 🏆⭐️

So proud of Reese and Gianna for these incredible accomplishments. And what a blessing it is to have one of the world’s greatest tap teachers here at HDW. Huge thank you to Mr. Sergii for his choreography, training, and belief in these dancers. 💙

Strength, technique, and confidence, all built one step at a time 🩰✨

Our Pre-Pointe dancers are working hard at the barre developing the strength, alignment, and control needed for pointe work. Pre-Pointe training is such an important foundation that helps dancers safely prepare for the next stage of their ballet journey while improving overall technique, balance, and stability.

As recital approaches, our dancers have been sharing their routines with other classes during studio performances 💙✨

Practicing in front of an audience before stepping on stage is such an important part of a dancer’s growth. It helps dancers:
• Build confidence and stage presence
• Learn how to stay focused with people watching
• Practice performance quality and facial expressions
• Become more comfortable managing nerves
• Feel more prepared and excited for recital day

Creating these performance opportunities in class helps our dancers shine both on and off the stage, and we love watching their confidence grow each week 💫

Accelerated is more than a competitive team, it’s a family 💙✨

Through every rehearsal, competition, and challenge, our dancers learn the value of teamwork, trust, leadership, and supporting one another. The culture within HDW Accelerated is built on encouragement, hard work, accountability, and friendships that extend far beyond the stage.

Watching these dancers grow together is one of the most special parts of what we do 🫶
