💙Remembering Sacha Distel on his birthday!!
Alexandre "Sacha" Distel (29 January 1933 – 22 July 2004)
a French singer, guitarist, songwriter and actor.

During his career, Distel worked with Kenny Clarke, Jimmy Gourley, Lionel Hampton, Slide Hampton, Bobby Jaspar, Barney Kessel, John Lewis, Pierre Michelot, Bernard Peiffer, Henri Renaud, Fats Sadi, Art Simmons, Martial Solal, René Urtreger, and Barney Wilen.

Today ends a phenomenal era for ABC13-Melanie Lawson. After 43 years, this Houston treasure has anchored her final newscast.

I can’t say enough great things about Mel. But as I told her, she’s set an incredible standard of excellence and kindness —for so many of us to follow.

Even working at a competing station, she was always in my corner and would call to lift me up—and I’m glad we’ve stayed in touch since I left H-town. Cheers to a beautiful next chapter, Mel 💙. We love you
