We're busy putting the finishing touches on both shows that will be opening tonight! We hope to see you all there at 6PM!

▶David Hardaker's show will feature large scale paintings based on the fifteen Shostakovich quartets for strings which the composer wrote during Soviet rule in the former USSR. Hardaker was invited by the Axiom string quartet to attend their first performance of this work in 2025 with the idea that the music could inspire a body of work. Working with the quartet over the course of nine months, Hardaker has made a series of paintings that attempt to capture the music and the struggle of the composer creating under successive Soviet premiers from Stalin to Brezhnev.

The show will be accompanied by a special performance by Axiom String Quartet starting promptly at 6PM.

▶In Modal, Peter Heal departs from his regular process by incorporating texture, painting, fabric, and wood to create work that toes the line between painting and sculpture.
