If you want choreography to stay in your body, slow walkthroughs matter.
When you practice slowly, you give your brain time to:
- Process sequencing
- Notice transitions between movements
- Clarify timing and counts
- Refine technique and alignment
- Connect movement to music intentionally
Running full-out too early often leads to memorizing “panic "oh sh*te" pathways” instead of clean structure. Slow repetition builds accurate motor patterns, which makes recall faster and more reliable later.
In simple terms:
Slow practice improves retention.
Accurate repetition builds consistency.
Consistency builds confidence.
Use slow walkthroughs until the choreography feels clear without strain, then increase tempo.
