Karen Grove Pope (left), our July honoree and Finance Manager, is always ready to lend a hand and a warm smile. You'll often see this dynamic duo at the check-in-desk at our shows welcoming guests and you'd never be able to tell that Karen drove 1.5 hours to get there - talk about dedication! And Patricia Kingman Gibbons (right), our August honoree and amazing Bookkeeper, is a total behind-the-scenes superstar. She works tirelessly to keep our chorus financials in peak shape, and we would truly be lost without her. 💰

Congratulations, Karen and Pat! Thank you for everything you do for HHC! 🎉

We had lots of fun celebrating National Ice Cream Day earlier this month at Sundae Serenade, our Ice Cream Social Summer Show! ☀️🍦

A massive thank you to our guest performers and also to our wonderful audience! 🫶 Singing for our community is always a treat and sharing ice cream afterwards made it extra sweet 😍 🍭

Our Sweet Adeline of the Month for June is the lovely "Jeannie" Rajeanna Steen Podraza ! ✨ Jeannie is one of our newer members, but she is already known on the risers as an avid learner and a wonderfully friendly face.

While passing along the traveling SAotM necklace, Cris shared a sweet story from last month: back in May when Leslie was describing the next recipient, Cris was absolutely certain Leslie was describing Jeannie! Cris was all too excited to recognize Jeannie this month and celebrate everything she brings to the risers. 💙🎶

We recently welcomed TWO new members: Katie and Andreina! 🎉
Katie is a lifelong choral singer who performs with multiple local groups, and she is officially adding "HHC Tenor" to her musical lineup! And Andreina is trading in her childhood clarinet and band experience to fulfill a lifelong dream of singing in a chorus as our newest Lead! We are so excited to have these musical ladies join us on the risers. 😄

Got no musical background? No worries! We welcome rehearsal guests with both lots of (and zero!) musical experience. Come along on a Tuesday night and find out what the Houston Horizon community is all about! 💙

We're having a great time this weekend at Great Gulf Coast Region 10 Sweet Adelines's Summer Splash event! ☀️🏖 Our members have been participating in workshops, volunteering behind the scenes, catching up with friends from other choruses, and having tons of musical fun!

Being part of Houston Horizon Chorus is so much more than just a weekly rehearsal. Regional events like this offer incredible musical education multiple times a year! If you're ready to grow as a singer and join a vibrant community, come along to one of our Tuesday night rehearsals in Spring Branch to see what it's all about! 💛

Last month, we held our annual awards and installation dinner to celebrate the incredible talent, dedication, and heart inside our chorus. It is always a privilege to recognize the people who give so much to Houston Horizon!
