Photography is my heart’s eyes….What I feel, love, and tend to express. I love to capture the little and overlooked things in life, that most people tend to bypass. The simple way a flower tilts to when the sunset’s colors align perfectly. My painting developed as a venting tool for the tough times in my life. Then photography took over and expressed my happiness, appreciation and gratitude for life. I started taking pictures with my point and shoot Kodak camera, but hadn’t developed enough confidence in my photos, until I met a photographer at the Bayou City Arts Festival…
He took the time to look over some of my photos at that time. I ran with his advice to always shoot and to never think that I needed expensive equipment to capture what I see. He told me “You can have all the equipment in the world, but if you don’t have the eye, it’s worthless” At that point, he inspired me to continue doing it. I like to also dedicate this page to my mother . She was also a photographer years ago. She passed 4 years ago and my heart's wish is that she watches over me with a smile from above. I would also like to dedicate this page to those who pushed me along the way and who also contributed in one way or another. I am Patricia Torres, a self taught photographer who is simply moved by the beauty in this world and would love to take people on a journey through what my eyes see…..
