Breaking Bread is back for its second season! Chris Shepherd will sit down with Top Chef judge Gail Simmons, ballet icon Julie Kent, and culinary historian Toni Tipton-Martin—three legends, three very different tables.

Breaking Bread is presented by the Hobby Center in partnership with James Beard Award-winning chef and TV host Chris Shepherd. He trades his culinary jacket for a mic and sits down with creatives and thinkers who inspire him and who’ve influenced culture for unscripted chats about experiences that shaped them.

August was quite a month at the Hobby Center! A few highlights before we say hello to September👋

We celebrated our incredible volunteers at our annual appreciation dinner, kicked off another year of the ExxonMobil Discovery Series with a welcome for the performers who will help bring the arts to thousands of Houston-area fifth graders, and welcomed Ben Dietschi, a Senior Consultant with the DeVos Institute, for a company-wide AI training event.

A fun month and plenty more ahead!
