Opera Leggera

Opera Leggera Bringing exciting musical-theatrical experiences to audiences in the Greater Houston area and beyond.

In 2005, professional opera singers, Chris and Sasha Holloway, founded the performing arts company “Opera Leggera” (light opera) in Kingwood, Texas. With the desire to present the world's most beautiful music to the North Houston community, Chris and Sasha created a unique musical theatre that would present a diverse repertoire that spans the styles of opera, operetta, pop, Broadway, & American/international classic standards. Each Opera Leggera production is original and presented by a cast of singers, dancers, actors, and musicians, professional and amateur alike. Through the years, Opera Leggera has produced more than 20 original shows and counting, among which audience favorites include "Holiday Enchantment," "Our Song is here to Stay," and "There Ain't Nothin' Like a Dame." Opera Leggera is also dedicated to providing a professional and educational atmosphere for aspiring artists.

We are heartbroken to learn of the sudden passing of Mark Norelli, the owner of Javaman Coffee. As many know, Mark was one of the warmest individuals you’d ever meet and without fail, anytime we’d come into his coffee shop to work on an upcoming Opera Leggera project, he would greet us by name and with friendly conversation. He had the uncanny ability to make anyone who walked through his door feel seen and welcome. Mark was also always supportive of Opera Leggera, sharing performances with Javaman Coffee customers and putting our posters in his shop window. Mark will be dearly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

If you find it in your heart, we’d ask that you please consider donating to this GoFundMe that will go to support his wife and family during this difficult time.
