General Information
Andy & the Dreamsicles is a high-energy classic rock band based out of the Clear Lake area that has been entertaining audiences for five years. They make new friends and fans wherever they go. Central to the band's success are two strengths: First, they play a vast setlist which is diverse enough to make anyone happy; and second, skilled musicians who are capable of performing the repertoire well. It takes more than one or two musicians to make the songs they perform sound full enough, and "right". The band contains a lead vocalist, guitar, drums, keyboards and auxiliary percussion. Andy, the keyboardist, also plays the bass. All of the musicians are "monsters" on their instruments. They possess the high level of talent and musicianship necessary to make the songs come alive. The Dreamsicles lead vocalist is truly excellent and has his own following. In fact, everyone in the band sings. The band is very energetic. They doesn't merely play a song, they deliver it! Andy and the Dreamsicles play a wide variety of music, from the '50s, '60s, '70s and 80s. Although the set list contains many styles, the band specializes in early 70s rock and pop music – Classic rock. Other styles they play include island music, country, jazz and easy listening. As with other classic rock bands, Andy & the Dreamsicles perform songs by the Beatles, ZZ-Top, Wilson Pickett and Jimmy Buffett. An evening's performance might include Mustang Sally, Brown-Eyed Girl, or Barefootin', but the band's forte is to play the other songs that were huge hits. Songs that were loved universally when they were new but have been forgotten. Some of the other artists covered by the band include Todd Rundgren, the Blues Brothers, Billy Joel, Steely Dan, Elvis Presley, Santana, the Righteous Brothers, The Monkees, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Three Dog Night, the Rolling Stones, Kenny Chesney, Merle Haggard and many more. The set list contains songs that are not usually performed today, such as American Pie, California Dreamin', Please Please Me, Mama told Me Not to Come, and I'm A Believer. Every song performed by the band is somebody’s favorite – No "filler"! The band is lively. At any Dreamsicles performance, they generate their own fun. Their modus operandi is to start off the evening hot - no warm-up is required! The band performs long sets and keeps the tempo up. They almost never slow it down – unless someone requests it. When this happens, there are many danceable slow songs on hand. The band invites audience involvement, and sometimes even asks if anyone would like to sit in to sing a few background vocals. Andy and the Dreamsicles play often in and around Clear Lake and all around the Houston metroplex as well. They have been featured on three Carnival cruises out of Galveston, and are currently booking for the fourth one. The band is friendly, outgoing, easy to work with, honest and professional. They have many references and will provide them upon request. They appear at a wide variety of events and functions, public and private. Locally in Clear Lake, they play more restaurant-type establishments than night clubs. They are very family oriented and suited for young and old. All inquires large and small are welcomed.
