Is this dad being a JERK or Justified on Father's Day?

I need to know if I’m being selfish here or if everyone else is making me the bad guy.

A few months ago, I booked myself a Father's Day fishing trip. Not a family trip. Not a "maybe if nothing comes up" trip. A trip for me. On Father's Day. My wife knew about it from day one and had zero problem with it.

Fast forward to now—our childcare fell through. My wife has to work that day and suddenly she's acting like my plans are optional.

I told her I'm still going.

Maybe that sounds harsh, but it's Father's Day. The one day a year that's supposedly for dads. I'm not canceling a trip I've been looking forward to for months because someone else dropped the ball on childcare. Figure it out. Call family. Call a sitter. Call a friend. But I'm not eating the cost of the trip and spending Father's Day playing emergency babysitter.

Now she's furious and says I'm putting fishing ahead of my family.

So what do you think...

Am I a jerk for refusing to cancel the trip?
Or justified because it’s Father’s Day and I shouldn't have to give up my plans because childcare fell through?
