🚨 IRAN REFUSES TO REOPEN STRAIT OF HORMUZ — UNLESS THE U.S. AGREES TO ITS DEMANDS
🌍 A major global energy crisis could deepen as Iran says it will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz unless the United States accepts a series of demands.
Iran says Washington must:
🇺🇸 End the war
🚢 Remove the naval blockade
🪖 Withdraw military forces
💰 Lift sanctions
🏦 Release frozen Iranian assets
💥 Pay compensation for war damage
⚠️ Stop future threats against Iran
At the same time, Iran and Oman are reportedly working on a new maritime route, but Tehran says that an agreement with Oman alone will NOT guarantee the reopening of the Strait.
Why does this matter?
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important energy chokepoints. Around one-fifth of globally traded oil normally passes through the waterway.
If the standoff continues, the consequences could reach far beyond the Middle East — affecting oil prices, fuel costs, inflation, shipping and economies around the world.
