5 years of building something bigger than ourselves. 🎉

On August 18th, we packed the room at United Way United Way of Greater Houston for our Community Planning Meeting, and it was everything we imagined and more. Business owners, volunteers, and sponsors gathered in one room. All asking the same question: How do we make LEW 2026 the biggest year yet and continue to close the capital gap for Latino entrepreneurs in Houston? 📈

Zoe Saldaña said something that really stuck with me: stop always asking the person of color who is fighting twice as hard to get into the room what they can do differently. Maybe we should start asking the gatekeepers what they can do to make the room more inclusive.

That’s a big part of what we’re building through Latino Entrepreneurs Week.

We’re building community, but we’re also building connections to the gatekeepers—the people and institutions with the capital, resources, relationships, and opportunities that can help entrepreneurs build wealth, live out their dreams, and fulfill their purpose.

Because access shouldn’t just be about getting one person into the room. It should be about opening the door wider for the community coming behind them.

Today, Latino Entrepreneurs Week had the opportunity to participate in Business con Cultura: Where Hispanic Entrepreneurship Meets Opportunity, hosted by NAHREP Houston! 🇲🇽🇨🇴🇻🇪🇵🇷🇨🇺🇺🇸

We enjoyed sitting on the panel and connecting with so many like-minded entrepreneurs, small business owners, professionals, and community leaders — all working toward one common goal: making sure entrepreneurs across Houston’s Hispanic and Latino communities have the opportunity, resources, and relationships they need to grow, succeed, and build wealth.

Even more exciting, many of the leaders in the room today will be joining us again as we celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Latino Entrepreneurs Week this October! 🎉
