Tomorrow night @ 7pm!!! The Quarantine Series presents our first new script from our Emerging Playwrights initiative: Happy written by Carolyn Richards!

Our Emerging Playwrights initiative is designed to offer a young playwright a workshop and public reading very early in their development as a playwright. We’re excited to offer Carolyn her first public reading for her first script—she has done an amazing job growing and making edits throughout our three week workshop process! Our team is:

Anna Maria-- Emily
Muhammad Khaerisman-- Kyle
Logan Butcher-- Gabriel
Directed by Madison Sutton

Come join us to support Carolyn in this successful first step in her journey as a playwright! Here's the event link: https://www.facebook.com/events/897841940627130/

All donations gathered during this performance will be donated directly to Black Lives Matter Houston.

The Quarantine Series stands in FEROCIOUS and unapologetic solidarity with the Black community. We highly encourage non-Black folks to take meaningful action. For example, to our Houston community: HTX activists have organized a march to city hall tomorrow (Tuesday, 6/2) at 3pm CST with George Floyd's family. We ask that all who are able to attend do so. Event link: https://www.facebook.com/events/s/justice-4-george-floyd/343746503270510/

Furthermore, redistributing wealth and other resources to protestors in need should especially be a priority to anyone who can’t take to the streets. For this reason, we have also included a "bail funds and protestor resources" link in the linktree in our bio. If you have money to spare, donate: https://linktr.ee/annamariaward

Our producers have donated—and will continue donating—to the Houston Bail Fund. TQS' Facebook messages are open for anyone who has questions about donations or resources. Stay safe. We love you all. 🧡

Howdy, quarantiners—It's time to meet the talented artist who directed this Friday's show! Muhammad Fachrul Yunus directed our upcoming production "Room 27," a play featuring iconic musical legends like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, and more. Tune in on May 29 at 7pm (CST) to watch this brilliant one-act play: https://www.facebook.com/events/541400673198284/

Muhammad Fachrul Khaerisman Yunus is thrilled to be directing with The Quarantine Series. Khaerisman was previously seen as an actor in The Quarantine Series’ Zoom Theater productions of “Adderall Nation” by Addie Symonds and “The Sandwich Artists” by Logan Butcher. Khaerisman is an actor, poet, vintage curator and BFA Acting Senior at the University of Houston’s Katherine McGovern College of the arts. He hopes to lead by example, and inspire generations of artists of color to share their stories with the world. He’s thankful to Logan, Madison, and Anna Maria for unapologetically smashing a space for artists to feel cherished and respected. Khaerisman hopes audiences see themselves in the stories the Quarantine Series is showcasing, and if not—come over and create with us.
